At °®Ç鵺ÂÛ̳, you’ll find a range of academic programs designed to prepare you for impactful careers in environmental science, sustainability and climate-related fields. With concentrations in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Environmental Planning and Conservation, and Environmental Chemistry, and the option to pursue a Sustainability Innovation and Outreach minor, you’ll gain hands-on learning experiences and interdisciplinary knowledge. You'll develop critical skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, fieldwork, and laboratory techniques, positioning you for careers as an environmental consultant, wildlife biologist, urban planner, environmental scientist and more.

°®Ç鵺ÂÛ̳’s commitment to sustainability equips you to work in roles such as sustainability engineer, energy manager or environmental geologist, where you’ll design solutions for environmental issues like pollution control, resource management, and climate resilience. The Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center offers 13 teaching labs, five prep labs, a student resource room and eight faculty-student research laboratories that include small mammal, aquatic and natural history facilities.

Our faculty boast wide-ranging expertise — including ecology, conservation biology, environmental chemistry, soil erosion and water quality  â€” as well as recognition for academic excellence.

Gain research experience as an undergraduate

°®Ç鵺ÂÛ̳ students pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental science can participate in a true research experience. Each semester, faculty actively mentor students as they design experiments and collect, analyze and interpret data. Our undergraduate researchers have been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented their research in professional settings.

Small classes help you get big results

Small classes are a priority at °®Ç鵺ÂÛ̳. Your classes will rarely have more than 20 students. That means throughout your environmental science program, you’ll learn alongside faculty members who know your interests and can help guide you toward experiences that will help you achieve your career goals.

Work with the Center for the Advancement of STEM Education (CASE)

Collaborate with CASE at °®Ç鵺ÂÛ̳ to help educate K-12 students interested in environmental science and sustainability.
